Go Figure

I just went to my doctor's office today (for the 3rd time in a week), and got all my paperwork signed off on for the adoption. My doc says I'm pretty healthy. Actually I think he was surprised himself. My cholesterol levels are really good HDL 61/ LDL 90. He asked me if people in my family live into their 90's, I laughed and said no.

I actually can't think of anyone in my family who has lived much into their 80's. But it was rarely their bodies that gave out, it was usually their minds. I always joke that I'm one of the healthiest fat men around, my problem is, is that I am sort of a klutz. I'm not going to have a heart attack, I'm going to slip on a bunch of grapes and tumble down the hillside to my demise.

Oh well...

yeah, and I'll be standing there laughing my ass off until I see that your neck is all bent at a weird angle. Naw, you won't die in some weird way like that, we'll go together eating doughnuts, deep fried ice cream and deep fried snickers.

Great cholesterol numbers! True testament to your exercise.

shogun, i really admire your commitment to exercising. i think you look great, especially in your blue shirt...

i was so clumsy when i was little (still am), my whole family called me "goofy" for years.

next time i come over, gimme a couple drinky poos and i'l re-enact the time i ran straight into a tree and knocked myself out while playing freeze tag...

wow, that's some good cholesterol readings! bravo!!!!

now i feel like a fkn' slug and i'm the skinny one.

i'm also the clumsy one in my family and the poor child has inherited that trait from me...hence all of her lovely bruises on her shins, legs, etc.

well, if you can't be healthy, at least gook good. Better than being fat and unhealthy!

I think The Child's got a fearless streak in her. She's gonna kick ass on the varsity greco roman wrestling team!

Man, those numbers are awesome. It must have been the sporadic bowling nights, right?

I'm gonna get mine checked soon. Hopefully its gone down. Yeah, more bowling, and more cow bell...

Cow bell? Wait, is that code for something kinky????

Well, mine were revealed to wifey, lotus and shogun this afternoon. Not as terrible as I would fear. Low on the bad, VERY low on the good. But let's not forget the love affair I have with bacon.

I would like to think it's validation for me to increase my bacon input, but I know better.

here's another one of my long-winded explanations for yet another pop culture reference:

the cowbell is a reference to the misuse of this very 70s instrument, made famous by christopher walken in the skit 'more cowbell' on SNL. he plays the manager of rock group blue oyster cult and he is telling them that their song, 'don't fear the reaper' needs more cowbell.

it must be an old skit because it had tim meadows, will ferrell and (?) john goodman as the band members.

yes, you had very good numbers! Come over next weekend and we'll have a bacon, spinach and bacon salad with baon vinaigrette, green beans with bacon crumbles, bacon cheese and bacon cheeseburgers and bacon fries!

This is reminding me of the Spam skit on Monty Python.

I saw you biking yesterday. Did you notice the green Accord slowing down in front of you after you turned onto O. Pkwy? I was going to honk but I didn't want you to lose control and crash. (Lotus later said that might happen). I was waiting for you to catch up, but you didn't hit the 50 MPH pace yet.

BTW, I'd like to borrow your T10 sometime. Thanks.

Ah the 50MPH dream. So far I have only hit 40 (downhill with a tailwind of course (it was today actually)).

I did notice a green car matching my speed for a few seconds. I thought it was the oddest thing. I was thinking the people were lost and were going to pull over to ask me directions.

Ya, I do hate it when people yell or honk from behind. It can be very startling and that is not good when your going 20 mph.

Anytime after Thursday 6 pm is good for the T10. I need it for work until then.

That was great skit! I love how they get mad at him for trying to work it in. I was thinking there might an alternate usage ;) you know, a double entendre...
